Bohachuk on Possible Collaboration with PBC: "I Think There Will Be Interesting Offers"

In an interview with vRINGe, the "interim" WBC super welterweight champion Serhii Bohachuk (24-1, 23 KOs) discussed his collaboration options after defeating American Bryan Mendoza (22-4, 16 KOs).

- Have there been any offers from Premier Boxing Champions? Are they willing to make you another fight on their platform? Are they interested in collaborating with you?

- So far, there haven't been any specific discussions. I only know that everyone liked it. They were satisfied with the performance – congratulating, thanking, shaking hands.

As for collaboration... I'm not going to take anyone's word for it. Until I see some specific offers, specific contracts, and agreements... Anyone can tell stories.

I think I caught their interest. They liked not only my performance but also how I presented myself before and after the fight. That means at press conferences, during the official weigh-in. So, I think there will be interesting offers.

But all that will come a bit later. First, a bit of rest.

- PBC is not the only real option for you. In WBC, there's now the champion (Sebastian Fundora), an "interim" champion (Bohachuk), and the mandatory challenger - Charles Conwell, who this month debuts for Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy. It's possible WBC will sanction your fight with Conwell to determine one contender.

- Sometimes it seems to me that WBC doesn't really favor Conwell (laughs). Somehow he can't manage to get a title shot...

Now he's with De La Hoya. Let's see what happens next.

- It's possible that you'll have a choice - to negotiate with PBC's Haymon or with GBP's De La Hoya.

- It's possible. For me, it's simple. The main promoter, the key figure in the team - Tom Loeffler. He's the person I trust. He's honest and respectable.

Obviously, he understands this business more than I do. If there are any offers and options, we will definitely rely on his opinion, on what he says, what he advises. Because he understands it more.

- What did your trainer Manny Robles say about your performance? Was he satisfied?

- Sure he was! Why very satisfied? Because everything we worked on before the fight went according to the scenario we prepared. Everything's great. All cool.

On the night of March 31, Serhii Bohachuk met Bryan Mendoza in a fight for the "interim" WBC champion title. After twelve rounds, Bohachuk won by unanimous decision and claimed the title.

This was the first fight in Bohachuk's career that went the full twelve rounds.
