Bohachuk on Lightweight Unification: "Who is Interested in This Fight?"

Interim WBC super welterweight champion (69.85 kg) Serhii Bohachuk (24-1, 23 KOs) does not think that a unification bout between WBO lightweight champion (up to 61.2 kg) Denys Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KOs) and IBF and IBO champion Vasyl Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs) will interest the U.S.

What is the likelihood that a Lomachenko-Berinchyk fight will be organized?

I don't think it will be organized. There are still a lot of other boxers with whom they will have fights. Who is interested in this fight here in the U.S.? Fights need to be hyped up to make money.

Lomachenko is known here, and they are interested in making a fight with Gervonta, for example. That's a money fight, but organizing a fight between two Ukrainians in America... They want people to come to the fights. People come to see Lomachenko, but a Lomachenko-Berinchyk fight would need a lot of promotion, that's the only way.

When could the boxers meet in the ring?

I don't think they will meet.

How important would this fight be for each boxer?

I think it would be more important for Berinchyk to show himself, to demonstrate his best qualities against Lomachenko.

Your prediction. Who would win if the fight is organized?

I think Lomachenko. Yes, Berinchyk is awkward, but Vasiliy was in the national team with him, and there was Anatoly Nikolaevich. They have seen Denys, boxed with him, and know how to adapt and find the right strategy. Because of this, they can beat him," said Bohachuk.
