Bogachuk Believes Lomachenko Will Face Challenges

"Interim" WBC super middleweight champion (up to 152 lbs) Serhii Bogachuk shared his thoughts on what might make George Kambosos dangerous for Vasyl Lomachenko in their upcoming fight.

- How do you see the events unfolding in the ring?

- It’s hard to say. Lomachenko is not young anymore, he’s already of age, first of all. Secondly, the fight will take place at Kambosos' home. Regardless of what anyone says, this also plays a big role – both acclimatization and support.

I think it will be very tough for Vasya in this fight. There’s no clear favorite in this match. I believe the fight will be even.

- Lomachenko himself has said that he is an aging boxer. Do you think this is his last championship chance?

- It all depends on how this fight goes. If Lomachenko wins convincingly – why not continue his career? If the battle is very tough, and perhaps he even loses, then he might end his career.

- Currently, in the lightweight division, the champions are Shakur and Gervonta. Lomachenko and Kambosos will be fighting for other titles, as well as Berinchyk against Navarrete. If you were to pick the top three strongest among these boxers, who would you highlight?

- I can’t single out one or three. I need to see them all in the ring against each other. Because one may beat another, and so on in a circle.

They are all very good boxers, and I can’t say who is better or worse because I haven’t seen them in the ring against each other, – said Bogachuk.

Lomachenko and Kambosos will meet on May 12th in Australia. The IBF and IBO lightweight titles will be on the line.
