The coach of Ukrainian junior middleweight boxer Sergey Bogachuk (23-1, 23 KOs), Manny Robles, commented on the upcoming fight against Sebastian Fundora (20-1-1, 13 KOs) for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title.
"This is a tough fight. At this level, there's no such thing as an easy fight. Styles make fights, and from a stylistic point of view, this is a good matchup. We just need to be in the best shape possible.
I know Fundora is coming off a loss. That doesn't take away from the fact that he's an excellent fighter. A person or a boxer shouldn't be disheartened by a loss. It doesn't define his career. He's a great fighter, he will learn from that loss, as will we, and come back a better, more dangerous fighter. We have a lot of work to do, but I believe in my fighter and his abilities. Sergey is ready, he's strong, he's brave. Better than ever before. He's in great shape. Expect a good performance from him. You can ask him this question yourself, but I get along great with the guy, as I do with all my fighters. I build relationships. It's not just a working relationship," said Robles.
The fight between Sergey Bogachuk and Sebastian Fundora is scheduled for March 30 in Las Vegas, USA. In his previous fight in July last year, Bogachuk won by knockout against Patrick Allotey (43-5, 33 KOs), while Fundora suffered a knockout loss to Brian Mendoza (22-3, 16 KOs) in April.
