Bob Arum, founder and head of the promoter company Top Rank, is convinced that former super heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) has truly retired from professional boxing.
However, the promoter believes that in the future, the Gypsy King might reconsider and return to the ring for a bout against Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs).
“I think when he said he was retiring, he was serious. But that doesn't mean his perspective on it will remain the same next month or in 3-4 months—he could change his mind. But I am absolutely convinced that when he announced his retirement, he really meant it.
Time will tell if Fury stays true to his words or if he is tempted by the chance to lace up his gloves once again for a fight with his long-time heavyweight rival, AJ,” Arum told FightHype.
In 2024, Tyson Fury lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk, after which he announced his retirement.
In September, Anthony Joshua was knocked out by Daniel Dubois in the 5th round.
