American undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney's promoter Bob Arum has confirmed that they are working on organizing a rematch with former WBA, IBF, and WBO lightweight champion Australian George Cambosos in mid-October in Australia.
“We are working on completing this deal. The big element is government involvement. [For the fight] there is the Ron Laver Arena in Melbourne with a capacity of 20,000. I think everyone is working hard to get this fight to take place in mid-October,” Arum said in an interview with Fight Hype.
WBC champion Devin Haney defeated Kambosos to unify the titles on June 4 in Melbourne, Australia. According to his contract, Kambosos had the right to a rematch in Australia, and he took advantage of it.
