Bivol vs. Beterbiev Bout Confirmed for June 1

Turki Al ash-Sheikh, organizer of the Riyadh Season boxing events series, has proposed a match between light heavyweight champions Dmitry Bivol (21-0, 11 KOs) and Artur Beterbiev (20-0, 20 KOs) as part of a promotional showdown between Matchroom and Queensberry.

Later, Al ash-Sheikh confirmed that the showdown would take place on June 1 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Bivol holds the WBA title in the light heavyweight division, while Beterbiev owns the WBC, WBO, and IBF titles.

Earlier, the WBC president, Mauricio Sulaiman, stated that they would not sanction such a fight for the Russians while there is an ongoing war in Ukraine.
