Bivol Offered $8 Million for Benavidez Fight

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman has revealed the potential purse for a highly anticipated clash between undisputed light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol and WBC interim/WBA "regular" champion David Benavidez.

Bivol made $2.7 million for the rematch with Beterbiev, and now he’s being offered $8 million to fight Benavidez. So it’s a great opportunity for Bivol.

I really hope that Bivol and Benavidez meet in the ring,” said Sulaiman.

Despite the WBC’s formal order for Bivol to defend his title against Benavidez, the bout remains uncertain. Turki Alalshikh, head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, previously stated he is not interested in staging Bivol vs. Benavidez, favoring instead a trilogy between Bivol and Artur Beterbiev.

While politics and promotional agendas swirl, the WBC continues to push for a unification showdown between two of the division’s top talents—with a career-high payday on the table for Bivol.
