Bill Haney: "F*** Shakur"

The father of WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs), Bill, has finally reacted to Shakur Stevenson's (21-0, 10 KOs) offer to replace Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) in the fight against his son, should Ryan pull out of the bout.

"We are training for a fight with Ryan Garcia. I'm not doing anything to jeopardize that. I can't negotiate or accept any offers with anyone else. F*** Shakur Stevenson. If Shakur wanted to do something, why take it to the media? I can't negotiate with Stevenson. Even if he agrees to something, he still has to go to Bob Arum and James Prince and ask them.

It's all nonsense. I thought he was going to fight Tank? What happened with that? Stevenson looked terrible in his last fight. Why do you think we want to fight you?" said the senior Haney.

Shakur responded to the last remark: "So I'm not suitable because of a bad performance, but you fought Regis Prograis and Loma right after their bad performances. Yeah, okay, Bill, you can fool the fans and hide who you are, but you can't fool me, my guy," Shakur wrote on his Twitter.

The Ryan Garcia vs. Devin Haney fight is scheduled for April 20 in New York. Shakur Stevenson has stated he's ready to fight Mexican William Zepeda.
