Bill Haney on Why They Didn't Want the Romero Fight

In a comment to FightHype.com, Bill Haney, coach and father of the WBC champion at super lightweight (up to 63,5 kg) Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs), shared his thoughts on Isaac Cruz's (26-2-1, 18 KOs) victory over Rolando Romero (15-2, 13 KOs).

"Cruz fought against a guy where a knockout was just a matter of time. Devin didn't include Romero in his list because we knew the real level of this guy.

Isaac just did what he had to do. He's nothing like Devin," Bill said.

On the night of March 31st in the USA, Isaac Cruz won by technical knockout in the 8th round against Rolando Romero in the fight for the WBA title in the first junior welterweight division.
