Ukrainian contender for the WBO lightweight title (up to 61.2 kg) Denys Berinchyk (18-0, 9 KOs) played the sound of an air raid siren at the press conference ahead of his fight with Emanuel Navarrete (38-1-1, 31 KOs).
«This is the sound my country wakes up to, lives with for more than 2 years – every day, every second. This sound means that Russia is taking someone’s life or destroying something – multiple times a day.
However, our defenders continue day by day, minute by minute, doing their duty. So, first of all, I want to thank the Ukrainian warriors because thanks to them, I was able to prepare and come here.
I also want to thank my team for the tremendous work we did together to be ready for the fight.
Lastly, I want to address the whole world, to everyone who sees and hears us – stand with Ukraine,» said Berinchyk.
The Berinchyk-Navarrete fight will take place on May 18 in San Diego, USA.
