Berinchyk’s Coach Reveals Pre-Fight Injury

The coach of former WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk revealed that his fighter was dealing with an injury before his bout against Keyshawn Davis.

"Denys had an injury—a labrum tear. That significantly affected his preparation for the fight. This injury became a major obstacle as it didn’t allow him to fully train and recover before the bout. It prevented him from performing at his best in the ring. I believe it also created additional psychological pressure and affected his performance during the fight.

It’s important to note that the fight took place under difficult circumstances, and the injury wasn’t the only factor in the outcome. You saw what happened behind the scenes, what Keyshawn and his team were doing. Preparing for a big fight always involves many factors. So, the labrum tear was one of the reasons for the result, but perhaps not the only one," said Grigoruk.

Keyshawn Davis defeated Denys Berinchyk by knockout in the fourth round. Full fight statistics available here.
