In an interview with DOM TV channel, the coach of Ukrainian lightweight boxer Denys Berinchyk (18-0, 9 KOs) and ambassador for Ready To Fight, Yehor Golub, commented on his protege's upcoming fight against WBO super featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete (38-1-1, 31 KOs).
"I knew Navarrete would be our opponent since February, so I had already been watching his fights, and I had seen his fights before that. Therefore, I was already making an analysis of what we need to work on, so we're dissecting it, watching fights together with Denys, analyzing. We're preparing.
Everything is going according to plan, we arrived at the training camp ahead of schedule. We've been training for 2 months already. We have another 2 months of preparation ahead, so thank God, everything is going according to plan. For Denys and me, this is an important fight. It's a fight for the world title, our goal, our dream. We don't need extra motivation.
We know the whole country, all our friends, all our families will be servering for us. So, we are motivated, working productively in the camp, and will do everything to bring the belt home. We are preparing and believe in victory. I believe in myself, I believe in Denys, I believe in our tandem, that everything will work out.
We will achieve our dream, which Denys has been working towards for a long time, and which I have been working towards with him since 2018," Golub said.
The fight between Denys Berinchyk and Emanuel Navarrete is scheduled for May 18 in San Diego, USA. The WBO lightweight title will be on the line.
