Berinchyk to Be Nominated for World Champion Title, Oleksandr Krasyuk Reveals

Ukrainian promoter and READY TO FIGHT ambassador, Oleksandr Krasyuk, has disclosed the timeline for Denis Berinchyk (18-0, 9 KO), a lightweight boxer and client of K2 Promotions, to contend for the WBO World Champion title.

I’m in the Caribbean more for Berinchyk than for Usyk. This something of a small anniversary for me - I have been representing Berinchik here for five years, recommending him as a mandatory candidate. I asked Paco Valcárcel (WBO President) to nominate him, as he is a boxer who has waited as long as possible to get his chance. He has already defended the WBO International title nine times.

It's worth nothing that Devin Haney has moved up a weight class, but hasn't relinquished his titles. After he fights Prograis in December, he likely be given time to decide what to do next. As Paco advises, we should wait a couple of months for this fight to take place, and then, with God's help, we will nominate Berinchyk for the World Champion title," Krasyuk said in an interview with ProBox TV.

As previously stated by the WBO President, Berinchyk is the top contender for the title, but it will all depend on Devin Haney's decision. If, after the fight with Regis Prograis, which is scheduled for December 9, the reigning WBO Lightweight Champion decides to stay in the super lightweight category, Berinchyk will be giving a shot at a championship bout.

Among the possible opponents for Denis, Paco Valcarcel mentioned Angelo Fierro, who is ranked 5th in the WBO ratings and holds the WBO NABO title, and Isaac Cruz, who is ranked 4th by WBO and holds the WBO Latino title.

The last time Denis Berinchyk fought was in the undercard of the Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois fight, winning by unanimous decision against Anthony Yigit.
