YouTube channel TIKE MYSON is buzzing with news that WBO lightweight kingpin Emanuel Navarrete (38-1-1, 31 KOs) might be squaring off against Ukrainian fighter Denis Berinchyk (18-0, 9 KOs).
Navarrete, itching to climb the weight class ladder to lightweight (up to 61.2 kg), is eyeing the WBO title recently vacated by Devin Haney.
Navarrete's got a fast track to the title shot, thanks to his WBO super champion status. This gives him the golden ticket to leap categories and lands a championship bout right off the bat.
Meanwhile, Denis Berinchyk's corner, led by trainer Egor Golub, has ruled out Cruz and Fierro as potential adversaries for the WBO showdown.
Navarrete's last dance in the ring was a draw against Robson Conceicao. Post-fight, he underwent surgery on his left hand in early December.
Berinchyk, on the other hand, came off a judges' decision victory over Anthony Yigit at the tail end of August.
