Bente: "Fury's Mind Games Ineffective Against Usyk"

In an interview with World Boxing News, Bernd Bente, the former manager of the Klitschko brothers, offered his insights on the upcoming bout for the title of the undisputed heavyweight champion (over 90,7 kg) between WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF titleholder Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs).

"I predict a victory for Oleksandr Usyk by points in the fight against Tyson Fury. Usyk is technically the better fighter.

He has far more experience, with 350 amateur fights across two weight categories. Usyk has also faced stronger opponents as a professional.

Fury's best opponents were Vladimir Klitschko, who was nearly 40 at the time, and a very limited Deontay Wilder with one trick up his sleeve. Even Fury's usual mind games are ineffective against Usyk.

Usyk is a cool guy and psychologically stronger than Fury.

Fury has shown a lack of discipline over the years. His last lackluster performance against debutant Ngannou further proved this. In this respect, Fury reminds me of Riddick Bowe, who also had great skills but couldn’t overcome his inner demons," Bente stated.

The bout between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury is scheduled for May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
