Benavidez Wants a Fight with Jermall Charlo on Canelo's Undercard

Temporary WBC champion in the second super middleweight division (up to 76.2 kg), David Benavidez, has revealed that he would like to have a bout with WBC middleweight champion (up to 72.5 kg) Jermall Charlo:

"I actually think it's a good idea if I could fight Charlo on the same card as Canelo. I wouldn't mind doing that. It would be good for boxing if we had fights on the same night.

I'm not going to sit and wait for Canelo. I can beat any opponent at 168 pounds.

If I get the approval for a fight with Jermall, then I'll fight him. I just want to stay busy and gain experience," said Benavidez.

In his previous fight, Benavidez defeated Demetrius Andrade. On the same night, Jermall Charlo also won against David's brother, Jose.

David has become the mandatory challenger for the title held by Canelo and stated that he is ready to fight Saul, but he won't wait for him.
