Sampson Lewkowicz, the promoter of interim WBC light heavyweight champion David Benavidez (29-0, 24 KOs), has revealed when his fighter will return to the ring.
Benavidez is scheduled to fight on December 14, 2024. According to Lewkowicz, Benavidez is focused on staying active and maintaining his position for a potential undisputed championship fight in the light heavyweight division, which is expected to happen in 2025.
The opponent for Benavidez on December 14 is yet to be determined. However, it’s known that the undisputed champion of the division will be decided on October 12 in Riyadh when Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev clash.
Benavidez made his light heavyweight debut on June 16, defeating Ukrainian Oleksandr Gvozdyk by unanimous decision.
