Benavidez Senior Confident That David Will Return to Super Middleweight

The father and coach of the WBC "interim" super middleweight champion (up to 76,2 kg) David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs), José Benavidez Sr., commented on his son's future plans.

"I'm really happy that David is moving up to light heavyweight. Let's take a short break and then return to super middleweight, because we're starting to get bored.

I'm almost certain we'll return to super middleweight. David is young, at 27 years old, and he is very dedicated to his craft. He is super disciplined. I'm not worried about that.

We're just focused on the next fight, looking spectacular, and we'll see what happens next," said José Benavidez.

David Benavidez's next fight will be in June against Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs) for the WBC International light heavyweight title (up to 79,37 kg).
