Benavidez Reveals Weight Before Fight with Gvozdyk

WBC interim light heavyweight title contender David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs) has shared his current weight ahead of his upcoming bout against former WBC light heavyweight champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs).

"I will be incredibly ready and motivated. We will try to achieve a knockout in this fight. I am 100% prepared. Last week, I had a check weigh-in at 85.3 kg, so I still need to drop another 5.9 kg, and I am very happy about that.

I hit harder in the light heavyweight division. I feel like people haven't seen the best of me. But in this division, I will be able to showcase the best David Benavidez. I still have a lot to prove to myself. I'm not done yet," said Benavidez.

The Benavidez vs. Gvozdyk bout will take place on the undercard of the Davis vs. Martin fight on June 15 in the USA. The winner will become the WBC interim light heavyweight champion.
