Benavidez Says He's Ready to Fight Crawford

Interim WBC light heavyweight champion David Benavidez (29-0, 24 KOs) shared his thoughts on a potential fight against WBA junior middleweight (69.9 kg) champion Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs).

"Yes, I’d love to get that fight. I’d be happy to do it, but I don’t think he’s moving up to super middleweight (76.2 kg). Right now, I’m in an even higher weight class, but I’d love to fight him or at least spar with Crawford," Benavidez said in an interview with Organikally.

Benavidez last fought in June, where he defeated Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-2, 16 KOs) by unanimous decision. In August, Crawford moved up in weight and defeated Israil Madrimov (10-1-1, 7 KOs) to claim the championship title. Back in October 2018, Crawford handed David’s brother, José Benavidez (28-3-1, 19 KOs), his first career loss.
