Ben Whittaker, the 28-year-old British light heavyweight, has explained his decision to sign with Matchroom Boxing under Eddie Hearn after three years with Ben Shalom’s Boxxer.
“I’ve had 10 fights, but it feels like my debut again. It’s a new beginning, a new chapter — and it’s exactly what I needed. My next fight will feel like a debut.
Everything happens for a reason, and we’ve found the right path. Eddie runs things very professionally, and I’m at a stage where I already have the platform — I just need the right path, the right fights, and the right titles. Matchroom can provide that, so it’s a logical move,” said Whittaker.
Ben Whittaker (9-0-1, 6 KOs) last fought in April, defeating Liam Cameron in their rematch via second-round TKO. Their first fight ended in a technical draw after both boxers fell out of the ring at the bell, leaving Whittaker injured.
