Former Usyk Opponent: “Fighting Oleksandr Would Be a Nightmare for Itauma”

Former world champion and ex-opponent of Oleksandr Usyk Tony Bellew believes Moses Itauma should steer clear of the Ukrainian superstar, despite Turki Al Al-Shaikh’s public interest in the matchup.

“I think it’s a terrible fight for Moses Itauma—the lad hasn’t even gone six rounds yet.

Throwing this kid to the wolves so early in his career—I just don’t understand why.

He’s young; let him develop like every other fighter, give him time to master his craft,” Bellew said.

Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) became a three-time undisputed champion in his last bout, knocking out Daniel Dubois in round 5. Itauma (12-0, 10 KOs) is scheduled to face Dillian Whyte on 16 August.
