Bellew Hopes Usyk Retires

Former world cruiserweight champion (up to 90.7 kg) and former opponent of the current undisputed world heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg) Oleksandr Usyk, Briton Tony Bellew, hopes that the Ukrainian will retire from professional boxing.

"I hope Usyk retires. He is financially secure, we dealt with his team, he never did it for the money and he could never spend what he earned, even if he wanted to. When he said at the press conference how tough the camp was, it was a warning bell.

He is the best heavyweight in the world, he has completed this game," Bellew said on the Club Bellew podcast.

Usyk is set to have a rematch against Tyson Fury, preliminarily scheduled for December 21, 2024, in Saudi Arabia.
