Bellew: "Gun to My Head, I'd Choose Zhilei"

Former champion Tony Bellew commented on the upcoming bout between American Deontay Wilder (43-3-1, 42 KOs) and Chinese Zhang Zhilei (26-2-1, 21 KOs).

"Zhang looked like he was heading straight for the titles with two stunning knockouts over Joe Joyce, but Parker knocked him down. He goes about his business more calmly than Wilder, but at his best, he’s a very dangerous guy with a powerful left hand.

If I had a gun to my head, I’d choose Zhang, but ask me tomorrow or the day after, and it might well be Wilder. They are both powerful punchers, and Deontay’s right hand is more explosive than Zhang’s left. But after seeing them both against Parker, I honestly don’t know what will happen," Bellew said.

The bout between Deontay Wilder and Zhang Zhilei will take place on June 1 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of the 5 vs 5 tournament between promotional companies Matchroom Boxing and Queensberry Promotions.
