Former world champion Tony Bellew has reacted to Martin Bakole’s explanation for his knockout loss to WBO interim champion Joseph Parker.
"They took off the headguards, they took off the 20-ounce gloves—then he realized he’s just like everybody else.
I mean, he said he hadn’t sparred since August. Don’t step into the ring and then start explaining why you lost. Say it beforehand," Bellew stated.
Bakole was knocked out in the second round against Parker. He accepted the fight on just two days’ notice, arriving at the venue barely 24 hours before the bout.
