BBBofC to Withhold Part of Miller’s Purse After Wardley Scuffle

The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) will withhold a portion of heavyweight Jarrell Miller’s (26-1-2, 22 KOs) purse following a heated altercation with British contender Fabio Wardley (18-0-1, 17 KOs).

The incident occurred on April 7 during a press conference in Ipswich. Miller showed up wearing a Norwich City T-shirt — a direct jab at Ipswich Town, the local football club Wardley supports and where the fight will be staged. The American also accused Fabio of producing a diss track aimed at him.

Please inform Mr. Miller’s team that his behavior will be closely monitored. Any repeat of the incident that occurred during the April 7, 2025, press conference in Ipswich may result in a ban from competing in the UK, along with disciplinary action and financial penalties.

In this regard, it has been decided that part of Mr. Miller’s purse will be held by the Board prior to the fight. I will provide the relevant instructions accordingly,” wrote BBBofC General Secretary Robert Smith in a letter to promoter Frank Warren.

The bout between Jarrell Miller and Fabio Wardley is scheduled for June 7 in Ipswich, United Kingdom.
