Barbosa Secures Title

On April 21st at the Barclays Center in New York, USA, American junior welterweight (up to 63,5 kg) boxer Arnold Barbosa Jr. (30-0, 11 KOs) faced off against Irishman Sean McComb (18-2, 5 KOs). The fight was for the WBO Intercontinental Championship title.

The bout concluded with Barbosa winning by a split decision. The judges scored the fight 98-92 (McComb) and 96-94, 97-93 (Barbosa).

Earlier in January this year, Barbosa secured a victory over Xolisani Ndongeni (31-5, 18 KOs) after his opponent withdrew from the fight. In December, McComb won against Sam Maxwell (17-3, 11 KOs) by a unanimous decision from the judges.
