Atlas: "I'm Surprised Jake is Taking the Risk"

During a recent episode of THE FIGHT with Teddy Atlas, the renowned boxing trainer and analyst shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight between YouTuber Jake Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) and former undisputed champion Mike Tyson.

"If their fight isn't at the level of a WWE agreement, which I am unaware of - I've never accused them of that because I've always believed these are real fights. But it still makes me wonder.

I don't question Paul's integrity. In fact, I like his honesty. I like what I've seen in the guy.

I'm just saying that if I ever had doubts about Jake - this is exactly that moment. Paul has a good right hand, he hits well with it, while Tyson is more skilled with left hooks. Perhaps Jake thinks he can land the right.

But the first question is, do they have an agreement on the fight script? Because if not – Jake might be making a mistake.

I'm surprised he's taking the risk. Punching power doesn't fade, even if you get older. Tyson still has speed in combinations. He still has style," said Atlas.

The fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson is scheduled for July 20th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The event will be broadcast on Netflix. It is still unknown whether the fight will be an exhibition or a full-fledged bout.
