Atlas on How Joshua Found the Knockout

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, American trainer Teddy Atlas commented on the heavyweight bout (over 90.7 kg) between Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) and Francis Ngannou (0-2, 0 KOs).

"Experience decided everything. I don't think Tyson Fury expected that from Ngannou in his first fight, but there was an element of surprise. This time it wasn't there.

Joshua knew whom he was dealing with, treated it with respect and was prepared. Experience gave him a significant advantage. Joshua used a feint effectively to move to Ngannou's left, allowing him to knock him out with a right hand.

Thanks to his experience, Joshua saw the opportunity to land a right hand, something Ngannou lacked. Joshua was able to see what a less experienced person couldn't. Joshua returned to a state where he is very calm, and he knows why he is doing it. It's no longer about the money," said Atlas.

The fight between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou took place on March 8th in Saudi Arabia. Already in the first round, Joshua sent his opponent to the canvas with a knockdown. In the second, the Brit finished the confrontation by sending his opponent to a second knockdown, then followed up with a decisive blow.

This victory marks Joshua's fourth win in the last 11 months and his third consecutive early victory.
