Renowned American trainer Teddy Atlas commented on the upcoming fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship (over 90.7 kg) between WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO titleholder Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs).
«It’s been 25 years since we had an undisputed heavyweight champion. You go back to the days when you walk down the street and say, 'Hey, who’s the heavyweight champion of the world?' and people have a chance to recall the name. Today, people don’t have the chance to name it. Too many names. But after this, we will have one name, and I think that name will be Usyk,» said Atlas.
The last undisputed heavyweight champion was Lennox Lewis, who defeated Evander Holyfield in their 1999 rematch. Since then, no one has held the title of undisputed world heavyweight champion. However, on May 18, Usyk and Fury will compete for this title.
