Arutyunyan Weighs More Than Shakur

On July 6 in Newark, USA, WBC lightweight champion (up to 61.2 kg) Shakur Stevenson (21-0, 10 KOs) will face off against Artem Arutyunyan (12-1, 7 KOs).

Ahead of the fight, the boxers underwent the official weigh-in procedure:

Artem Arutyunyan: 61.1 kg

Shakur Stevenson: 60.8 kg

Shakur last fought in November 2023 against Edwin De Los Santos (16-2, 14 KOs) and won by unanimous decision. Arutyunyan has not been in the ring since July last year, when he suffered his first career defeat, losing by unanimous decision to Frank Martin (18-1, 12 KOs).

The founder and head of Top Rank, Bob Arum, confirmed that following this bout, Shakur Stevenson will become a free agent.
