Arum hopes to stream Haney-Lomachenko fight on ESPN

Top Rank head Bob Arum said he would like to broadcast the fight of former three-weight world champion Vasily Lomachenko and undisputed world lightweight champion, Devin Haney, on ESPN, and not on pay-per-view (pay-per-view).

“I hope to do as few pay-per-view fights as possible because I don't think it's smart to move those fights to pay-per-view. People don't buy paid views. And the pay-per-view organization costs a lot of money. Even if the fighters don't take guarantees, they hate you later because they didn't make any money."

“Based on what cable and satellite providers are telling us, after the pandemic, people don't want crowds in their home. They don't want to have big parties for 25 or 30 people. Before the pandemic, people used these pay-per-views for entertainment. But now everything has changed.”

Vasily Lomachenko defeated American Jemaine Ortiz in his last fight. The Ukrainian had his first fight in the last 10 months. According to the results of the fight, all three judges gave the victory to Lomachenko - 115:113, 116:112 and 117:111.

After the fight with Ortiz, Vasily wants, first of all, to fight with Devin Haney, who holds the WBC, WBA Super, IBF and WBO titles. Devin himself has repeatedly stated his readiness to meet Lomachenko in the ring.
