Bob Arum, head of the Top Rank promotional company, discussed the plans for his lightweight fighters Vasyl Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs) and WBC champion Shakur Stevenson (21-0, 10 KOs).
"If Lomachenko wins and if Shakur, who has a fight scheduled for July, also wins, then we need to arrange a Lomachenko vs. Stevenson match in the fall. All fans would appreciate a unification bout between two exceptional, technical boxers.
Kambosos is very good. Even though he wasn’t born in Perth, he fights on home territory, and that means something," Arum stated.
Lomachenko's next fight will take place on May 12 against George Kambosos (21-2, 10 KOs) for the IBF and IBO lightweight titles. Shakur will defend his belt on July 6 against the German fighter Artem Arutyunyan (12-1, 7 KOs).
