Arum: "We Plan for Inoue to Fight Next in Japan in September"

Top Rank founder and CEO Bob Arum shared future plans for undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue (27-0, 24 KOs).

"We plan for Inoue to have his next fight in Japan in September this year. Then, depending on how things go, he will fight again at the end of the year, possibly in Riyadh.

Both Sam Goodman and the Irish guy Doheny are great opponents. This week, I had a brief conversation with Sam in Tokyo, and I was impressed with him and his demeanor. So, I don’t know if he will fight Inoue in September or December, but he will definitely fight Inoue this year," said Arum.

In May, Naoya Inoue was knocked down for the first time in his career, but ultimately won by technical knockout against Luis Nery (35-2, 27 KOs), defending his undisputed super bantamweight title.
