Arum: If Lomachenko beats Haney, I'd pay any money for a Loma-Shakur fight

According to promoter Bob Arum, the primary focus for Shakur Stevenson, former featherweight and second featherweight world champion, is to face the winner of the upcoming clash between Vasyl Lomachenko, the ex-champion in three weight categories from Ukraine, and Devin Haney, the current absolute lightweight champion of the world.

“The plan is for Stevenson to fight the winner of Haney-Lohm. If Haney wins, he's going to move up to 140 [pounds], so that makes that title vacant for Shakur."

“But if Loma wins, then Loma and Shakur is a fight I would pay anything to see. This is truly an incredible fight. Two really great students and artists in boxing,” said Arum.

Shakur Stevenson is set to make his lightweight debut on April 8th, where he will take on the undefeated Japanese boxer, Shuichiro Yoshino. The highly anticipated bout will serve as the main event of the boxing evening in Newark, USA, with the victor being named the official contender for the WBC title.

Meanwhile, Vasyl Lomachenko has been training at a camp in the USA for several weeks, gearing up for his upcoming fight with Devin Haney, the reigning absolute lightweight champion of the world. Fans can look forward to their clash on May 20 in Las Vegas.
