"He's Incredible." Arum Enthralled by New Prospect

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum has expressed his excitement about a new boxer in his company, Abdullah Mason (12-0, 10 KOs).

"This kid, Abdullah Mason, what a performance he showed! Among the young boxers, he's the best I've seen. The only thing is, I hope all these guys currently in the lightweight division will move in different directions because I wouldn't want to match them against each other. Maybe that's something I'll have to do, but I think in Mason's case, he's so young that he'll probably end up in the middleweight division.

He's incredibly balanced. And he's such a nice young man. He says the right things, he's calm in the ring, comes from a good family.

So, when people ask why I come to the early fights – here's the reason to see the development of guys like Mason, right from their first fight. Now he's fighting eight rounds, and he's only 19," said Arum.

Mason turned professional in 2021. Out of 12 opponents, he has knocked out 10. In his last fight on February 8, 2024, Abdullah knocked out the previously unbeaten Benjamin Garmendia (8-1-3, 5 KOs) in the second round.
