Arum Doubts Fury’s Return – Recalls Hagler’s Famous Quote

Top Rank boss Bob Arum has shared why he doesn’t believe former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will return to the ring.

“If I were a betting man, I’d say — he’s never fighting again. Marvin Hagler once said something brilliant: ‘It’s hard to get up and run at 6 AM when you’re sleeping in silk pajamas.’

I think Tyson just doesn’t want to wake up early anymore, go through the grind, or push himself through everything training demands — especially when he doesn’t need it financially,” Arum said.

Fury announced his retirement from boxing following back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024.
