Arum: "The Biggest Boxing Event in Japan's History"

Top Rank founder and CEO Bob Arum commented on the upcoming fight between Japanese undisputed super bantamweight (up to 55,2 kg) champion Naoya Inoue (26-0, 23 KOs) and Mexican fighter Luis Nery (35-1, 27 KOs).

"I believe this is the biggest, most significant boxing event in the history of Japan. Many years after Mike Tyson and Buster Douglas fought in the Tokyo Dome, boxing has returned to this iconic stadium in Tokyo. The eyes of the boxing world will be on Tokyo on Monday evening when this event takes place.

Challenger Nery is well-known in Japan and is one of the best fighters in the lighter weight divisions. Like all Mexican fighters, he will come here to give everything he has to win.

'Monster' Inoue is a boxing legend. He is recognized worldwide as the number one fighter. Boxing fans not only in Japan but all over the world will be watching this event to see the performance of the 'Monster.' This will be a memorable event in boxing history," said Arum.

The fight between Naoya Inoue and Luis Nery will take place on May 6 in Tokyo, Japan.

On May 11, 1990, at the Tokyo Dome, Mike Tyson suffered his first career defeat by knockout against James Douglas.
