“This Is Boxing, Not Football” – Anthony Yarde on Arthur Trilogy

British light heavyweight contender Anthony Yarde (26-3, 24 KOs) spoke exclusively with Ready to Fight about his upcoming trilogy bout against countryman Lyndon Arthur (24-2, 16 KOs), set to take place on April 26 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

– How are you feeling? Arrival, open workout... how’s fight week going?

Everything’s perfect for me. I’m buzzing. I just want to get in that ring, feel the energy of the arena, hear the crowd roar. And I’m going to put on a fantastic performance.

– You mentioned the crowd and the roar — does it feel even more special since the event’s happening at the open-air Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on a Saturday night?

One hundred percent. I’m an Arsenal fan, so… there are some mixed emotions, you know.

– I heard Declan Rice is coming. (Arsenal midfielder — ed.)

Exactly! And people are like, ‘Why would you want to fight at your rival’s stadium?’ But in my opinion, this is the best stadium out there. That’s just me being honest. And anyway — this is boxing, not football.

– True, the stadium is incredible. Joshua vs. Usyk happened there. Fury, too. What can we expect from you in this third fight with Lyndon?

Pure action. Pure explosive energy and entertainment.

This will be the third chapter in the Yarde–Arthur saga. Their first clash took place in December 2020, with Arthur edging out a split decision win.

In the rematch a year later, Yarde came back with fire, stopping Arthur via 4th-round knockout.
