British boxer Anthony Fowler revealed whom he considers the greatest amateur boxer of all time.
“The best amateur of all time is Vasyl Lomachenko. It’s a shame his professional career wasn’t as brilliant, but he still beat Haney,” Fowler wrote.
Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs) last fought in 2024, when he stopped George Kambosos to claim the IBF lightweight title. Later, Vasyl announced his retirement from the sport.
In the amateurs, Lomachenko became a two-time Olympic champion — in Beijing 2008 and London 2012 — and also won all six bouts in the semi-professional World Series of Boxing.
