Andy Ruiz Returns

Former unified world heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz (35-2, 22 KOs) is preparing to return to the ring. Andy is set to fight on August 3rd in the undercard of the Terence Crawford and Israil Madrimov bout.

The Crawford vs. Madrimov matchup has not been officially announced yet, but it is expected that Crawford will make his debut at junior middleweight in this fight. Ruiz plans to have his first fight since 2022 as part of the undercard for this show.

The last time Andy was in the ring was in the fall of 2022, where he defeated Luis Ortiz by decision. After that, a fight between Ruiz and Deontay Wilder for the status of WBC heavyweight title contender was planned several times, but according to Wilder's team, Ruiz demanded too high of a purse.
