Ruiz shared a quote from British promoter Bob Arum on his Instagram, discussing the possibility of the match. Alongside the quote, he included an image of the WBC title and a crown positioned above his initials.

It's worth noting that Ruiz's last fight took place in September of the previous year, in which he triumphed over Cuban veteran Luis Ortiz via unanimous decision by the judges.
