Andy Cruz to Face Hironori Mishiro on June 14

Matchroom Boxing has officially announced a bout between Olympic gold medalist Andy Cruz (5-0, 2 KOs) of Cuba and Japanese contender Hironori Mishiro (17-1-1, 6 KOs).

The fight will take place on June 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, on the undercard of Richardson Hitchins vs. George Kambosos Jr.

This will be an IBF lightweight title eliminator (limit: 61.2 kg). The winner will become the mandatory challenger for the title currently held by Vasyl Lomachenko.

Andy Cruz, ranked No. 3 by the IBF, last fought on January 25, defeating Omar Salcido Gamez via unanimous decision.

Hironori Mishiro, currently No. 5 in the IBF rankings, scored a stoppage win over Hinata Maruta in December when Maruta’s corner pulled him from the fight.
