Anderson on Arrest: "I Wouldn't Say I Regret It"

In an interview with ESPN, American heavyweight (over 90,7 kg) boxer Jared Anderson (16-0, 15 KOs) commented on his arrest after attempting to flee from the police.

"Very impulsive decision. A lot of people are watching me, whether I like it or not, but... I need to be a better role model. I've learned my lesson, so now it's just about moving forward.

I'm human. I'm 24 years old. Everyone makes mistakes. This won't be my last mistake. But I hope it's my last mistake that gets me arrested. It seems to me that many people have portrayed me as something I'm not.

I wouldn't say I regret it, but the lesson is learned. I'm trying to live my life without regrets. At this point, there's nothing we can do but acknowledge it to ourselves and take the hit.

This story won't destroy my career. It will just open my eyes, make me work harder. When you see my performance on April 13, just know you don't need to worry about me. I'm always training, even when people tried to break me down and say I wasn't focused. Even when there was an incident, I was still training. I was in the gym the next day after I was released from arrest.

I've always been hardworking. If you know me, you know my work ethic is really insane, it's true. So just know, I'll always be in shape, always ready. I think this is just the beginning for me. I've barely scratched the surface. Really ready to take it to the next level," said Anderson.

Jared Anderson's next fight will be against Ryad Merhy (32-2, 26 KOs) on April 13th at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, USA.
