Amosov has climbed to third place in the Bellator MMA rankings

Ukrainian Bellator welterweight champion (up to 77 kg), Yaroslav Amosov, has risen to the third place in the updated Bellator MMA rankings.

Leading the pound-for-pound rating is the Bellator featherweight champion (up to 66 kg), Patricio "Pitbull" Freire, from Brazil. In second place is Vadim Nemkov.

Last year in May, Amosov was supposed to fight the British Michael Page, but he refused the fight and stayed in Ukraine during the period of russian military aggression.

After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Amosov joined the ranks of the territorial defense in Irpen, which fell under the occupation of Russian troops.

Recently, the Ukrainian returned to the ring and won a convincing victory over the American Logan Storley, who held the interim welterweight title.

Amosov became the Bellator champion in June 2021, defeating the Brazilian Douglas Lima by unanimous decision. Yaroslav became the first Ukrainian who managed to win the championship title of the organization.
