Absolute world champion in super middleweight Saul "Canelo" Alvarez talked about a possible fight with mandatory contender for the WBO belt John Ryder.
"It would be interesting to meet him in London. It would be a very big event. But the truth is that I have not yet agreed with my opponent. I'm focused on rehabilitating my hand, I'll see how I feel in January and see what the doctor says."
On the night of September 18, Alvarez defeated Gennady Golovkin by unanimous decision and defended his titles. All the judges gave Canelo the victory - 116-112, 115-113, 115-113.
In early November, Alvarez underwent surgery on his left wrist. Canelo plans to return to the ring in May. Mandatory contender for the WBO belt John Ryder is called a possible opponent of Saul.
Alvarez, for his part, wants a midterm fight in May before targeting a rematch with WBA light heavyweight titleholder Dmitriy Bivol.
