Alvarez Triumphs Over Ryder with Unanimous Judges' Decision

On Sunday evening, May 7th, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (59-2-2, 39 KOs), the Mexican super-middleweight undisputed champion, triumphed over British WBO mandatory contender John Ryder (32-6, 18 KOs).

The showdown headlined the boxing event held at Akron Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Alvarez took control from the outset, forcing Ryder to lean against the ropes or engage in clinches. Ryder struggled to defend himself, and in the fifth round, he was knocked down by a straight right.

The absolute champion continued to intensify his attack, with Ryder narrowly avoiding another fall in the sixth round thanks to the ropes. In the eighth round, Ryder hit the canvas once more, but the knockdown wasn't officially counted.

Despite Alvarez's constant upper hand, Ryder displayed remarkable resilience and lasted until the end of the match. In the final rounds, Alvarez's pace slowed slightly, and although he maintained pressure, he couldn't secure an early finish.

Ultimately, Alvarez emerged victorious over Ryder with a unanimous decision, boasting scores of 120-107, 118-109, and 118-109.
