Saul Alvarez, the reigning world champion in the super middleweight division, holds the belief that the finest boxers in the world, regardless of weight class, are heavyweight fighters. Specifically, he cites Tyson Fury, holder of the WBC title, and Oleksandr Usyk, who holds the WBA, WBO, and IBF titles, as the prime examples of world-class boxing talent.
According to the Mexican, the leaders are British, but you can add Ukrainians to that list as well.
"There are a lot of good boxers. I think Tyson Fury deserves to be the pound-for-pound leader. But I think Usyk does too," Boxing Social quoted Alvarez as saying.
It's worth noting that the highly anticipated title bout between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury is scheduled to take place at the close of April this year.
