Allen on Itauma vs. Whyte: “They’re not stupid”

British heavyweight David Allen believes there’s clear reasoning behind matching rising prospect Moses Itauma with veteran contender Dillian Whyte.

“Looks like Dillian Whyte has had three fights in three years. He’s 37. I expect Itauma to win over the distance.

In his prime, Whyte was a world-class heavyweight, no doubt. But we haven’t seen him at that level in five or six years.

They’re not stupid — they wouldn’t put Itauma in with Dillian Whyte if they thought he was even remotely close to his best,” Allen said.

The fight between Moses Itauma (12-0, 10 KOs) and Dillian Whyte (31-3, 21 KOs) is scheduled for August 16 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
